The Baby Abode Shop - making our moms and babies feel loved!

 We here at Seaside are excited to welcome you to Kim O'Brien's Newport Beach shop, The Baby Abode. She has brought a fresh, new hypo-allergenic line of baby clothing, blankets, soft sea creature cuddle toys, books and accessories to help your baby or the precious little ones in your life feel extra love, comfort, and joy. 

Being a mom herself, Kim brings a wealth of experience to finding just the perfect extra soft fabrics, comfy styles, and accessories that will round out your baby's growing needs.

Kim likes to think of herself as an “eczema warrior.” Her daughter Winnie has lived with severe eczema and several allergies since birth. "Wearing not just organic cotton, but really really soft organic cotton to alleviate Winnie’s eczema actually helped her sleep better and feel as comfortable as possible in her own skin. Shouldn’t all babies feel that comfortable?"

Kim shares "as a first time mom is an exciting time, all I wanted was to adorn my baby girl with the sweetest dresses, bows, and booties. This was not a simple task of going to the store and choosing my favorite things, there was a lot of trial and error. Organic cotton does not always have soft seams, or fits flexible, or washes well. Another lesson learned was synthetic dyes and nickel, many babies have sensitivities or allergies to these materials. Of all the things you think of as a new mother, this is not something anyone can prepare you for. I also knew I wanted to help make things easier for moms going through a similar journey as myself."

Keep a look out as Kim will be introducing SENSORY BOOKS, imaginative stories, and toys that promote creative learning for the holidays.

She also plans to introduce BABY SKIN CARE that is eczema and allergy friendly.

As a wonderful side note, Kim is also a private music instructor and founder of THE MUSIC ABODE COLLECTIVE and brings music to our shop and your world with her wonderful ukulele classes. Kim shares "as a music teacher, I believe in the importance of creating an environment for children that is creatively enriching."
